Southern California girl, Jennifer Sommer, loves nothing more than introducing real people to real food, real experiences and the talents behind them. Since 2001, she has been at the forefront of the country's culinary explosion as both Food & Wine's West Coast Director and currently as Food & Wine's West Coast Correspondent. She is renowned and sought after for her ability to spot up and coming talent and trends in the culinary world.
During this time she has also become famous for her signature sweet, salty, nutty and totally addictive granola. The first batch was a simple gift to her husband, a self-appointed granola connoisseur. That one batch has turned into thousands and now Sommer House granola has a loyal following including some of the country's best chefs. Many of whom you may find cooking in her kitchen on occasion for her invite-only dinner parties.
